CHEF NIMAL FERNANDO (ACHSGA)
Course Director

Chef Nimal Fernando is a Sri Lankan Celebrity Chef, Lecturer, Assessor, consultant, Instructor and former executive pastry chef at five-star hotel Galadari in Sri Lanka.  He is a senior member of Chefs Guild Lanka and qualified NVQ Level 4 from NAITA and City & Guilds.

 

He is well known among Sri Lankans through the food program named “RASA SARANIYA” broadcast in national TV channel in Sri Lanka for more than 18 years, where he introduced many patisserie recipes. Chef Nimal Fernando is a continuous award winner in his long career life and established well in Hospitality industry in Sri Lanka. 

 

After more than two decades of working experience he has decided to educate and train youngsters to empower them to become culinary specialists in hospitality industry in future and he has over twenty years of teaching experience throughout many leading training schools in Sri Lanka.

CHEF MANAWADUGE NUWAN WIRANGA (BA, MA, HOSPITALITY)
Visiting Lecturer

Educated at Isipathana College, Colombo Mr Nuwan Wiranga joined the Ceylon Hotel School (now the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management) in 1997 Diploma in 2002. Upon Diploma he joined the Oberoi Hotel (now Cinnamon Grand) and thereafter the Cinnamon Lake side Hotel, Colombo. He then moved to France   for his higher studies. Earned Masters in Hotel, Tourism and leisure Management in 2003 /2004, and worked in Restaurant Sarl Djibouti , Beaucouze , France from from June 2004 to June 2005.He has received overseas training in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.Also serving as a license NVQ Assessor.

CHEF PRADEEP PERERA
Visiting Lecturer

Chef Pradeep is a Sous Chef at Kingsbury Hotel Colombo, overseeing the chocolate room and playing a pivotal role in pastry, bakery, and chocolate decorating. With over 18 years of experience in the hotel industry, including consultant and Sous Chef positions both in Sri Lanka and overseas, he leads a team of more than thirty staff members. Chef Pradeep is known for his friendly and disciplined approach, guiding students with etiquette and sharing his vast knowledge in pastry and bakery. He joined ITEC as a visiting lecturer in 2022, further contributing to culinary education.
